Gondolas = public transit. Instead of massive rail projects… just build stuff in the air. Solves the right-of-way problems that will likely make light rail or subway projects impossible. And, it’s cheap.

Also, it’s not entirely a new idea. Video game inventor / astronaut / haunted house enthusiast Richard Garriott proposed a related idea years ago – an on-demand, elevated transit system that shuttled people around in “pods.” It was called Austin Personal Rapid Transit… not sure if it’s still in the cards.

But it was a good idea then, and it’s still a good idea now.
